The public information round on the revised proposals for Whitechapel station has now ended.

Simon Bennett, Crossrail Consultation manager, said: 'We would like to thank everyone who has responded and hope they are now better informed as to how the scheme has been developed as a result of previous public consultation.'

Crossrail presented their revised proposals for Whitechapel station from August 30 until September 30, 2005.

The proposals were available for consultation with the public at an Information Centre at Whitechapel Sports Centre on 2 and 3 September.

Crossrail staff were available to explain the revised scheme, answer questions and listen to comments.

Since then all the information on the proposals has been available at www.crossrail.co.uk (click on 'Bill supporting documents') and further enquiries were invited through the Crossrail 24 hours, 7 days a week helpline on 0845 602 3813 or by e-mail to helpdesk@crossrail.co.uk.

New ticket halls and improved interchange facilities for the station were part of the Crossrail Bill submitted to Parliament on 22nd February, 2005.

Following public consultation, the proposals were updated to include a revised station building, offering passengers with mobility impairment full access to the District, Hammersmith, and City and East London Underground lines, as well as Crossrail

Though the information round has ended, the information will remain on the Crossrail website until further notice as the proposals are part of the Crossrail Bill process.
