Crossrail will be presenting revised proposals for Whitechapel station from August 30, 2005 until September 30, 2005.
New ticket halls and improved interchange facilities for the station were part of the Crossrail Bill submitted to Parliament on 22 February, 2005.
Following consultation, the proposals have been developed further and will be presented for consultation with the public at an Information Centre at Whitechapel Sports Centre on 2 and 3 September.
The proposals will also be available from the Crossrail website.
The updated proposals includes a revised station building. It will offer passengers with mobility impairment full access to the District, Hammersmith, and City and East London Underground lines, as well as Crossrail.
The new ticket hall would be accessed from a newly pedestrianised area on Fulbourne Street, E1, with easy access from Durward Street and Whitechapel Road.
The Whitechapel Sports Centre is located at 55 Durward Street, E1, and the Information Centre there will be open on Friday September 2 between 12am and 8pm and on Saturday September 3 between 10am and 5pm.
Crossrail staff will be available to explain the revised scheme, answer questions and listen to comments.
All the information on the proposals will be available on the Crossrail website at www.crossrail.co.uk (click on the button on the left hand side 'Whitechapel Information Round').
Enquiries and comments can be made by phoning the crossrail 24 hours, 7-days a week helpline on 0845 602 3813 or by e-mail to helpdesk@crossrail.co.uk
