Richard Morris appointed Crossrail Operations Director

Richard Morris has joined Crossrail as Operations Director.


He joins from being Operations Director and Projects, Chiltern Railways.

'I know that Richard will bring the strength and the experience of many years in the industry to his new role with us,' said Doug Oakervee, Executive Chairman of Cross London Rail Links (CLRL).

'Crossrail is a major infrastructure challenge and I am pleased to be able to play a role in bringing through the Parliamentary phase into construction. It is one of the most exciting projects in the UK for many years and will bring considerable benefits to London and the UK,' said Mr Morris.



Richard Morris

Mr Morris comes from a long line of railwaymen and is a founding member and Chairman [for 5 years] of the Institution of Railway Operators. He joined the railway industry in 1970 as a management trainee after gaining a degree at Exeter University.

Amongst his many roles he has been Area Manager Paddington, Regional Operating Manager Anglia Region, Deputy Managing Director Railfreight Distribution, Operating Manager British Railways Board, Safety Director Eurotunnel, Operations Director Eurotunnel, Executive Director London and SE SRA Operations, Director London Lines.
