Crossrail Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Transport for London (TfL) and is a public authority under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Any information held by Crossrail is accessible by members of the public on written request, subject to certain limited exemptions.
Requests for Information
If the information you are looking for is not listed in the Publication Scheme you can make a request to us, which must be in writing, detailing the information you require and giving an address for the response. An email or fax address is acceptable.
Requests will be dealt with as quickly as possible and within the Freedom of Information Act's statutory timescales, normally 20 working days.

Crossrail Publication Scheme
The FoIA requires every public authority to adopt and maintain a publication scheme setting out the classes of information it holds, the manner in which it intends to publish the information, and whether a charge will be made for the information.
The purpose of a scheme is to ensure a significant amount of information is available, without the need for a specific request. Schemes are intended to encourage organisations to publish more information pro-actively and to develop a greater culture of openness.
Classes of information already made available by CRL, together with contact details, are listed in the Crossrail Publication Scheme. The aim of the Scheme is to outline the information about Crossrail that is available to the public. The Scheme is divided into a number of sections, and classes of information are grouped within those sections.
It also sets out the terms, conditions and the procedures for accessing the information.

Freedom of Information complaints
If anyone complains about the way we handle a request for information, or the response we have provided, CRL is required by the Freedom of Information Act to carry out an internal review.
The internal review will be carried out by one or more individuals who were not involved in the processing of the original request, and will be undertaken with the intention of providing a response to the complainant within 20 working days. If the complainant is not satisfied with this response they may contact the Information Commissioner, who will investigate the complaint and make a final decision.

The internal review procedure is only used for complaints about requests that fall under the Freedom of Information Act, Data Protection Act, Environmental Information regulations or Re-Use of Public Sector Information Regulations.
