Background:

  • Before joining Crossrail’s apprenticeship programme, Ben worked as a trainee electrician in domestic properties
  • He joined Europe’s largest infrastructure project in September 2011 working at Crossrail’s Whitechapel site and has witnessed some of the recent major milestones including the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) Elizabeth’s breakthrough into Whitechapel
  • Ben chose the apprenticeship route because it’s a great way to gain qualifications and earn a salary at the same time
