Application process

In order to provide full transparency across our business and to identify top talent in the market place, our application process has a number of steps along the way. This ensures that all individuals who come on-board not only match the job profile but also our values.

Stage 1: Advertisement

We make sure we advertise all of our open vacancies on our careers section of the website, for both internal and external candidates. In each of the listings you will find more information about the specific role and the requirements in order to be successful. From here you can choose and select the exact vacancy you wish to apply for.

Stage 2: Application

When you are confident you have the relevant skills and experience for the role, you can apply for the position by firstly downloading and reviewing the job description attached to the advert making sure it fits all of your expectations. This is also where you can download the relevant application form for the role, making sure that you complete all of the sections as requested in order to be fully considered.

Once you have completed the entire application please email it directly to us to recruitment@crossrail.co.uk stating clearly the role and job reference number you are applying for, if you don’t have access to email please look out for further submission instructions listed within the advert.

Stage 3: Shortlisting

Your application will be reviewed and screened by our recruitment team. We will be evaluating your suitability for the role and the experience you have gained, along with academic achievement or equivalent, and any other relevant competencies applicable to the role.

When you have passed the recruitment screening stage your application will be then forwarded to the appropriate hiring manager for consideration, after this process is completed you will hear of the outcome. Successful candidates will be invited for an interview, whilst we will communicate with all unsuccessful candidates.

Stage 4: Interview

The interview will give us the opportunity to get to know each other as part of an open, honest and objective discussion and process. The interviewing panel will depend on the role you applied for, however we will make sure that we can make the environment as comfortable as possible.

The number of interviews you will need to attend will depend on the role and the position you have applied for. In some cases we may require further assessments and we can ask you to undertake a relevant test or exercise in order to validate your skills accordingly, should this be required we will explain all the details in advance of the process.

Stage 5: Selection Stage

When we have completed all the interviews for the open position we will be able to make a hiring recommendation based on the evaluation we have conducted.

Only after this process is completed we will be able to inform each and every applicant accordingly.

If your application was made to us by a recruitment agency we will contact the agency and provide them with relevant feedback to pass on to you.

Stage 6: Offer Stage

If you have been selected as the most suitable candidate for the role we will make you a verbal offer over the phone with the official offer letter / contract following in the post.
