The Land & Property department is responsible for acquiring all the land necessary to build the project, creating commercial value from over-site developments to help fund the project, designing public realm improvements that will improve the setting of our stations as well as safeguarding the future potential.
The main area of operations within Land & Property is acquisition, this enables us to secure the land required for the construction of the Crossrail project and, where appropriate, manage that land to achieve the best possible return.
Our Over-site Development division integrates design schemes with appropriate planning consents, implement the Crossrail land disposal policy and maximise the returns.
Urban Integration is very important to us, making sure we deliver designs for the urban realm outside the Crossrail stations, and co-ordinate these designs with stakeholders so that they receive the required support.
Additionally Route Development & Protection enables us to safeguard the current Crossrail route along with any proposed extensions. Such as safeguarding the proposed Chelsea-Hackney line, and carrying out development studies in order to inform the provisions and to reach agreements with developers.
