Our Health & Safety department is one of our most crucial and vital divisions within the business, making sure we not only deliver the project safely, but provide our colleagues high quality every day support.
It provides Health and Safety improvements, assurance, accident/incident capture, monitoring, and coordination of our Target Zero programme.
Our Target Zero programme helps to protect the work environment from factors that may prevent us from keeping everyone safe throughout the project. It ensures visibility at all locations and a clear understanding exists through the demonstration of these principles in day-to-day activities on all contracts, on all sites, with each Principal Contractor or Joint Venture and with each individual engaged on Crossrail.
But this alone is not enough - we have to raise the bar to ensure that we achieve Health and Safety excellence across the business, and achieve world class health and safety standards through:
- innovation and continuous improvement;
- sharing best practice;and
- developing and implementing standards which are considered world class in the industry.
We believe that an effective occupational health programme is essential in the delivery of Crossrail, as good health will have a positive effect on employees, enhancing well-being and focusing on improving the awareness of health and wellbeing related issues.
