Contracts have been let since the final quarter of 2008 and will continue throughout the duration of the project.
How do I find out about contracts and get the latest information?
As Crossrail contract opportunities become available, they will be advertised on TED (Tenderers Economic Daily - a supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union).
Delivery Partners will also be advertising opportunities on TED and elsewhere. Further information will be available on this site when appropriate.
Can I do anything else to help my company to win Crossrail contracts?
Link-Up is the UK rail industry supplier registration and qualification scheme. It will be used as an additional source of suppliers and contractors by Crossrail. Companies wishing to win Crossrail contracts may wish to apply for registration and qualification.
I'm only a small business - will I have any chance of getting a contract?
Crossrail is committed to equal treatment of all potential suppliers and contractors, irrespective of their size. Please view TED and Link-Up to find out more about contract opportunities.
Can I get some advice on how to tender for contracts?
TED will refer to particular (Official Journal of the European Union) OJEU Notices. These Notices will provide all necessary information as to how to submit prequalification documents, which will comprise the basis of Crossrail's decisions as to the companies to be invited to tender.
What will be the role of the Crossrail Programme Partner?
Crossrail has appointed a Programme Partner, Transcend, who will help Crossrail fulfil its obligations to safely deliver the overall programme to time, to the desired quality and within budget. Transcend will provide the additional expertise and experienced staff to work alongside Crossrail staff to manage the programme.
What will be the role of the Project Delivery Partner?
On Crossrail appointed Bechtel Limited as the Project Delivery Partner for the Crossrail project in April 2009.
As Project Delivery Partner, Bechtel Ltd will be responsible for overseeing delivery of the core central tunnelled section of the Crossrail route and will also manage the design process.
What are OJEU Contract Notices?
Broadly speaking, under EU legislation, contract opportunities associated with railway projects which are valued above a certain monetary thresholds must be published in the Official Journal of the European Union, in the interests of fair and open competition. An OJEU Notice is a document submitted by purchasing organisations advertising the opportunity.
