Currently available are the reports for the London Boroughs of Barking & Dagenham, Bexley, Brentwood, Camden, Ealing, Greenwich, Hammersmith & Fulham, Havering, Hillingdon, Islington, Newham, Redbridge, Tower Hamlets and Westminster. Also available are the reports for the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, and the District Councils of Slough, South Bucks and Windsor & Maidenhead.
The report aims to provide an outline of the Crossrail project, the proposals that relate to the relevant authority and a high level programme of requests for approval under schedule 7 of the Crossrail Act.
The Context Reports are available to download from the Context Report section of the Crossrail Library. These reports at the moment are sometimes larger than the 5MB maximum for this site so it may take some time for you to download or print off. We apologise for this.
If you do have any problems, please contact the Crossrail helpdesk on 0345 602 3813 or email helpdesk@crossrail.co.uk. They are also available from Crossrail's Offices (25 Canada Square, Canary Wharf, London E14 5LQ), or from the local authority concerned.
Crossrail will bring a number of major transport improvements to London. Many journey times will be considerably reduced through Crossrail, particularly where new direct links are provided. Existing journey times could be more than halved and Crossrail will enable quicker journeys to destinations such as Canary Wharf and Heathrow Airport. Crossrail's high frequency and high capacity services will relieve congestion on many Tube and rail routes, improve access to jobs and generate investment in the area. Crossrail is the largest transport investment in London and the South-East for 50 years.
Should you have any queries about the Context Reports or the Crossrail scheme in general, please do not hesitate to contact our 24 hour, 7-day a week helpdesk on 0345 602 3813 or via email at helpdesk@crossrail.co.uk, or write to us at Crossrail, FREEPOST NAT6945, London SW1H 0BR.
London Underground context reports
The Crossrail Parliamentary Bill received Royal Assent on 22 July 2008, after completing all its parliamentary stages, becoming the Crossrail Act 2008. The Act gives permission for Crossrail to be built, operated and maintained. It also gives London Underground permission to rebuild the Tube station at Tottenham Court Road.
Tottenham Court Road station
London Underground are responsible for the delivery and construction of the existing Tottenham Court Road station upgrade and the Bond St Upgrade. As London Underground have the responsibility to deliver this section of the project, they have released their own context reports (one each for Westminster and Camden). These reports can be found below. There is also further information on the following TfL project page website here.
