First stage of piling works at Plumstead Portal complete

Crossrail’s contractor, Hochtief Murphy JV, has completed the first stage of piling for the Plumstead portal that will take Crossrail’s slurry tunnel boring machines below the River Thames.

Crossrail installs more living walls

Crossrail has installed living, breathing vertical gardens around its site on Park Lane, in central London. This ‘living wall’ is the second to be installed by the project following the success at Finsbury Circus. The gardens will help improve air quality by reducing dust, pollen and carbon dioxide levels.
