Health Impact Assessment published by Crossrail

Crossrail has published a Health Impact Assessment (HIA).

It was first placed on the Crossrail website on 21 December 2005 in advance of formal publication, in order to provide stakeholders with an opportunity to consider it as early as possible.

The HIA reports on the work that Cross London Rail Links Ltd and the DfT have undertaken to identify and where necessary mitigate the potential human health impacts of the project.

The Crossrail Supplementary Environment Statement (SES1) published in May 2005 considered how the environmental impacts assessed in the Environmental Statement (ES) are related to human health focusing on the topics of noise and vibration, air quality, electromagnetic interference and contaminated land.

The SES1 also noted that a separate Health Impact Assessment was being undertaken in line with appropriate guidance.

The HIA document now made available reports the findings of that assessment.

The document is available as a download from this site and from the DfT website.

To download the HIA, click on the 'About Us' section of the Crossrail website www.crossrail.co.uk .
