Crossrail is constructing an emergency access shaft in Fisher Street to support tunnelling works to build a large crossover tunnel below Red Lion Square in Holborn. The crossover will allow trains to transfer from one running tunnel to another. The site is close to the British Museum and London’s West End.

The property development sits over the access shaft behind a listed building at 8-10 Southampton Row. Crossrail has obtained planning consent for the small residential infill development from the London Borough of Camden.

The scheme comprises:

  • 22 residential units over eight storeys.
  • Predominantly two bedroom units but contains a mixture of both smaller and larger flats. The top two floors feature duplex apartments with private roof terraces. The lower two floors also provide duplex apartments with an external roof garden at first floor level.
