Finsbury Circus Worksite
Crossrail will be excavating a temporary shaft in the Finsbury Circus worksite, from which the Liverpool Street Platform tunnels will be constructed. Currently the Crossrail team is using this area for site offices while preparatory works, including the construction of a temporary substation, and archaeological investigations, take place. We are also installing settlement monitoring equipment in buildings above the platform tunnels.

Blomfield Street Worksite
Crossrail completed the demolition of the buildings at 11-12 Blomfield Street at the end of May 2011. The site will be used to access platform three at the Liverpool Street London Underground station so that switch rooms and a new power substation can be built. The site will eventually house the Blomfield shaft that will contain mechanical and electrical equipment, and provide ventilation and emergency access to the new Crossrail platforms. Crossrail is currently strengthening the pavement in front of the worksite to allow for access into the site.
Our contractors are carrying out utilities diversions in Blomfield Street, and New Broad Street, to divert utilities away from the future ticket hall.

Crossrail is carrying out archaeological investigations, with the Museum of London, in Liverpool Street. In order to complete these investigations, Crossrail has closed a section of Liverpool Street between Blomfield Street and Old Broad Street to traffic, from June 2011 until 2018. Following the completion of the archaeological works, the road will remain closed for utilities diversion works and the construction of the Broadgate Ticket Hall.
