Investing in London Borough of Hackney

Find out about the community investment initiatives that our contractors have undertaken in London Borough of Hackney.

As part of their Community Investment Programme Laing O’Rourke, carrying out the main works for the new Crossrail Liverpool Street station, have chosen to support ‘Inspire!’.

Inspire! is the Education-Business partnership for Hackney, providing education, training and development for young people by forming partnerships between businesses and schools.

Since October 2012 Laing O’Rourke have been working with young people, hosting sessions at their project offices, focusing on developing employability and explaining career paths in the construction and engineering industries.

Andrew Veness, Laing O’Rourke’s Project Director, said of the scheme: “It’s great to make a start on supporting the community around us and introducing young people to our version of business in the City”.

Laing O’Rourke plan to carry out a number of community investment initiatives over the duration of their contract.

Visit the Inspire! website for more information about the work that they do.
