Amendment of provisions environmental statement May 2007

The Department for Transport (DfT) has deposited a fourth group of Amendment of Provisions. Since the deposit of the Bill in February 2005 a number of changes to the project have been identified as a result of discussions with stakeholders and continued project development, and in response to the Select Committee's interim decisions.

Some of these changes would have the effect of extending the scope of the Bill.

Such changes to the project can be made by depositing Amendment of Provisions and in some cases require further environmental assessment work to be carried out and published.

An Amendment of Provisions Environmental Statement (AP4) is now available and contains details on:

  • Revised proposals for the construction of works and acquisition of lands in the London Boroughs of Newham and Greenwich for the provision of a station at Woolwich and the realignment of running tunnels and associated works between North Woolwich and Plumstead.

Petitions

As with the Bill, those affected by the proposals in the Amendment of Provisions have the opportunity to petition against them. Parliament has set a four week petitioning period ending on 12 June 2007, in which those affected should submit their petitions to the Private Bill Office in the House of Commons. They can be contacted on 020 7219 3250.
