Crossrail, in partnership with the CITB-Construction Skills, has created a new Literacy Resource for Teachers –
Let's Build a Station.
The book has been carefully written and features stunning photographs and full colour diagrams. These make the construction process accessible and interesting.
It is designed to cover various literacy objectives.
The book follows two young children as they discover how Crossrail propose to build a station at Canary Wharf in Docklands. The book is filled with questions, designed to engage pupils in their learning. It is like a non-fiction book with glossary and notes, to provide answers to the questions.
Let's Build a Station is two books – 1 large format (A3+ size) and small format (A4 size). This provides for whole class/large group work and small group/individual work.
