Brightening up the environment!
Pupils at St. George's Hanover Square C of E Primary School have been busy thinking about hoardings round worksites.
During the construction phase of Crossrail several worksites will be required along the route to provide the necessary safety and access for construction.
These sites will be temporary and following the end of construction they will be restored back to the way they were.
The hoardings are erected to keep the public safe, reduce noise and provide a secure boundary for the site. The hoarding is made from sheets of wood erected to create a solid fence.
Crossrail engineers are concerned that these hoardings fit in with the environment around them, even though they are temporary structures.
We thought it would be interesting to see what they would look like if decorated on the public side of the hoarding. And what better way than asking local school pupils what they think!
