What does your job involve?
Speaking to Journalists from newspapers, TV and radio. I make sure that Crossrail's publications are produced, the website works well and I look after the Young Crossrail Education Programme.
Can you describe a typical day?
I would start the day by looking through our daily press cuttings to see what has been said or written about us by the press. Some stories may require a response, such as a written letter, if the facts are incorrect. I may then write a press release or some facts for responding to the media on a particular issue.
I usually spend some time editing text for new publications and liaising with our design agency on the layout and photography requirements. I may also be required to organise and attend interviews with our senior managers for a magazine or newspaper and attend meetings with our partners, Transport for London and the Department of Transport.
Throughout the day I also need to answer numerous calls from journalists about the project, many of which can take quite a while to solve, as well as answer all my emails.
What's the best thing about your job?
The variety and seeing something that I've written, edited or created published
