Contractor donates time to charity

Crossrail contractor, Costain-Skanska JV has started fulfilling their commitment to donate one hundred staff hours preparing lunch for the homeless at The Connection at St. Martin's-in-the-Fields.

Costain Skanska joint venture also plan to make a donation towards advice sessions or computer classes for homeless people.

Over the life of the project Crossrail and its principle contractors will support community initiatives and local charities across London, focusing on those that can address a real local need.

Our ambitious Community Investment Programme requires our contractors to donate skills, time, money and expertise to bring lasting benefit to the community. The Crossrail led approach helps to deliver consistent and meaningful benefit alongside construction and beyond the life of the project. It will also help set a standard for future construction projects.
